Katie joined the PTO when her first child began primary school. Previous to her involvement with the PTO, Katie was involved with a local mom's club where she was on the executive board for 4 years.  Recently, she has assisted the PTO with the walkathon, teacher appreciation week and organizing kindergarten park meet ups.  She enjoys helping others and understands the importance of community involvement and teamwork to promote and enhance a child's education.

Katie and her husband have lived in Douglas for 6 years and have 3 children; a daughter in second grade, a son in preschool and a toddler age son.  Katie's passion is advocating and helping others and she currently works as a licensed social worker completing clinical, comprehensive assessments on children who are in foster care awaiting adoption.  In her spare time, Katie enjoys spending time with her husband and kids, gardening and reading.  She is very excited to collaborate with the school staff, parents and caregivers of our young tigers.
